Welcome to the UNM Interdisciplinary Science Cooperative’s Virtual Open House. Until we can safely invite you into our space within PAÍS we hope that this virtual experience not only teaches you about how our collaborative is supporting our University’s research mission but also gives you a firsthand look at our state-of-the art facility.

Throughout the month of October, please take time to explore each of our Centers and laboratories, as well as our projects and fellowship. If you are interested in getting involved in our Team Research Symposium this spring or any of our other upcoming activities, please contact Irene.

Visualization Lab

Website Reserve the Space

This isn't your average video wall - it's a groundbreaking visualization environment that brings big understanding to big data. With a 150,000,000 pixel resolution (23,040 x 6480), anything is possible.

Work Room

Website Reserve the Space

Break into groups in the work room for code training or bring everyone together for a presentation. The Visualization Lab in the adjoining room also opens into this space, turning the incredible display next door from a research tool into a research training tool.

PAÍS Courtyard

Everyone who enters PAÍS from the west entrance is greeted to a welcoming sitting area that can be used for group work, to relax, or even for private events (please contact Irene Gray if you are interested in reserving the space).

1st Floor Lobby

PAÍS was built with the intent to bring people together and the spaces within it reflect this throughout. Brightly colored areas, like the Lobby, indicate open areas within the building that anyone is welcome to collaborate in at any given moment. No reservation required. White boards, tables, and USB ports are all available in these spaces and everyone has access to the Wi-Fi within the building to expand upon their ideas.

Across from the Lobby is one of our newest installations, the PAÍS donor wall. As a thank you to those who helped make the building and the programs within it possible, the donor wall stands as a testament to the power of people coming together to create change.
